( IMPORTANT) Until you are certain the copy process worked (the Nintendo Switch can read the data from the SDXC card), do not modify, delete, or format the old SDHC card. Or simply click on the Eject icon instead.įor a more permanent solution (Windows only), you may also choose to disable Disk Write Caching. Open Finder and right-click on the drive in the sidebar on the left, then select the "Eject" option. Right click on the drive icon on your Desktop, then select " Eject ".ĭrag the drive to the eject icon on the Dock (where the Trash icon normally is). My guess is that you removed the SD card from your PC before it had the time to write the data to the SD card. How can I transfer the data between the two SD cards? No matter what I try the Switch doesn't like the new card. I've tried overwriting the folders automatically placed on the SD card when the Switch formats it, and I've tried merging them instead. I've tried doing all this on my Mac, on my Virtual Windows, and on my actual Windows. I've tried copying the data to my computer, then to the second card. I've tried copying the data directly from one card to the other (my adapter supports two SD cards simultaneously). If I format the SDXC on my computer to ExFAT or FAT32, the Switch has no problem reading it.īut the second I copy all the data from the SDHC onto the SDXC, carefully following the advice from this other Nintendo FAQ, the Switch starts screaming bloody murder about how it can't read the SD card that's been imported. If I format the SDXC when it's in my Switch, the formatting process completes successfully. If I plug the SDXC into my Switch when the card is empty, the Switch has no problem reading it. I have already downloaded the necessary Switch update. I have a Nintendo Switch, a Micro SDHC 32GB with save files on it, and a Micro SDXC 64GB that I'd like to transfer the files to.Īs per this Nintendo FAQ, both cards are Switch-compatible.
